This is a submission for Buckojam 2025!

You play as Amiya, the Bucko-munching spider vtuber. You also play as one at a time of her Buckos, who may or may not want to be munched.

This is a game written in Befunge, a two-dimensional stack-based programming language. I wrote the interpreter myself and have made a few changes to it to support the game (notably, you now add with the spider operator, apparently!). The full source code for the game is rendered in the game window and you can see the full state of the virtual machine that runs it! You might need to move the speed slider slightly, as speed is probably a bit system dependent.

There is some multiplayer support, assuming my server hasn't crashed or something. All players play at the same time and control all other players' Buckos; the last keypress wins. The intention was for it to get a brief play in multiplayer mode when Amiya played it on stream, if she were able to -- it probably isn't very interesting to turn on if you happen upon this long after the jam, as if nothing else I probably tore down the server! If the server's down, the game will completely break and you'll need to reload to reset it.

I'm trying not to log any details about anyone that connects, but you have only my word on that. It'll only connect to the server if you tick the box before you hit 'Go'; without that it should be fully offline unless I left some bugs in! You'll need to reload if you want to enable/disable multiplayer. The only data sent and received are the input keys.

This is wild, and it's cool to watch it doing its thing! Was really fun to play the multiplayer during stream with the bucko moving mechanic.

Thanks for giving it a go! I was really glad to have people give the multiplayer bit a go as while the single player is hopefully interesting (I find trying to move both just makes me die...), it's also pretty optional. :)

Top score was 37! very cool game concept with multiplayer and everything!

Thanks for playing! I was glad people jumped in!
